Springing Forward

Dear Gather & Grow family,

We're stepping into March with a heart full of gratitude and excitement! This month we're not only celebrating the strength and resilience of women for Women's History Month, but we're also eagerly counting down to our 5th birthday in April! Your unwavering support and trust in us have been our driving force and we look forward to continuing this journey with you!

We're thrilled to share that our service area is growing! Three of our clinicians (Ami Koide, Jacqueline Plante, & Traci Medeiros) are now offering telehealth support to Florida residents. If you or anyone you know needs a compassionate ear or support in our specialty areas, we're here for you. We're proud to say that we’re all LGBTQ+ affirming and provide relational therapy for a variety of relationship types.

Our commitment to education and support of the communities we serve continues with the launch of our full 3-Course LGBTQ+ Affirming Care Series, now featuring "Specializing in LGBTQ+ Mental Health". We believe this course will be an invaluable resource for those wanting to deepen their understanding of LGBTQ+ mental health and we warmly invite you to explore it.

Here's to kicking off Spring with growth, connection, and celebration!

With a spring in our step,

The Gather & Grow Team

GGOC Announcements

We're excited to announce that Specializing in LGBTQ+ Mental Health is now live! To make the world safer and increase cultural competency in the mental health field for the LGBTQ+ community, the full 3-Course Series is now available for FREE on Gather & Grow Education for Providers.

CEs and Certificates of Completion are available by donation and submission of course evaluation and distance learning post-test.

Therapy for LGBTQ+ individuals requires an understanding of unique stressors and mental health needs, due to societal inequality and discrimination. This population has been designated as a health disparity group, necessitating more focus from health programs. Effective care involves understanding minority stress, barriers to care, and the diverse experiences within the community. This course equips practitioners to cater to these needs, fostering an understanding of intersectionality, and emphasizes the importance of visibility, advocacy, and allyship.

Join our FREE 3-Part LGBTQ+ Affirming Care Workshop Series, tailored for mental health professionals. This beginner to intermediate series is facilitated by Gather & Grow OC Co-Directors, Jacqueline Plante and Traci Medeiros. It offers strategies for inclusive, respectful care, and continuous growth and education.
